The Blackfinch Property team was delighted to attend the 28th Annual Property Awards ‘PROPS’ Lunch on 14th May at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
It was important to us to participate in this key fundraising and awards event. As a team within Blackfinch Investments Limited, we are part of an organisation focused on helping everyone around us to thrive. This includes our customers and staff, talent that we sponsor, and others in need of support. Similarly, we also seek out opportunities to engage in charitable work and make a difference.
The ‘PROPS’ lunch is an annual event that takes place to raise money for the purchase of wheelchairs for disadvantaged children and young people across Britain. Variety, the Children’s Charity, raises funds to provide coaches and bespoke wheelchairs, along with specialist, sensory and recreational equipment for use in the home, school, children’s hospitals and youth centres.
The awards are the most prestigious event in the property calendar, covering the full spectrum of the industry. They give the opportunity for those working in the property world to meet and network. Several members of the Blackfinch Property team were in attendance this year, along with brokers with whom we work in partnership on the completion of deals.
Alongside participating in charitable initiatives and auctions, the team heard from young ambassador Dante. Dante is a confident, inspiring 11-year-old who suffers from a brittle bone condition. Dante’s mother had applied to Variety for a lightweight wheelchair to improve his mobility and independence, as the wheelchair he has been using is not suitable for his small frame.
During the event, Dante actively encouraged guests to pledge money to buy additional wheelchairs for children the charity supports. In delivering his presentation, Dante’s character and charm shone through. His energy lit up the room, making an impression on the Blackfinch team.
We were pleased to be able to contribute to the event with the hope this will aid other young people in a similar position to live their best lives.
